Suhrud: This group provides support to the caregivers of Schizophrenia and meets once a month on the 1st Saturday of the month at 6.00 PM (No charges). Caregivers is called "Shubhankar" which in Sanskrit means "Those who wish good to others".
It is very puzzling and hurtful to watch one's progeny suffer from Schizophrenia. Parents and family feel thoroughly inadequate to help these people.. Often these feelings of helplessness and at times hopelessness leads to the parents/ families of those who suffer from schizophrenia lead very stressful and at times counter productive lives.
In this group, caregivers (Parents, family members) come together to get an understanding of the illness and also practical methods of coping. This group also gives a sense of belonging and emotional support to its members.
