Schizophrenia is one of the most severe psychiatric illnesses, which affects the patient's thinking, emotions and therefore his or her behavior. Today nearly 1% of world population is suffering from schizophrenia & around 40 % of the persons with the diagnosis of schizophrenia do come to marginal functioning such as getting and holding on to a job and looking after themselves. And the remaining 60 % have the earlier mentioned deficits due to which they cannot be fully functional in society as far as working, studying, socializing and/or leading a meaningful life. We at IPH do not call them patients but Shubharthis- persons walking in the direction of well being. ` TRIDAL ' ( three important components , Shubharthi , professionals and community & incidentally Tridal , leaf of Bel tree has antipsychotic medicinal properties ) a project at IPH helps these recovering patients participate in learning and using those skills for increasing their confidence and make them explore partially gainful employment.
